Desert Sting (see above) started off a busy day for the yard when running out an impressive winner of the hunt race. Ed took the ride and rode him positively throughout before injecting some pace in to the race with a circuit to run. He seemed to have the favourite in trouble when horse and rider parted company down the back straight, he kept on travelling powerfully all the way to the line to win on the bridle by 30 lengths. It was great to provide Dave Bostock with a winner at our local track, Dave is a big supporter of the yard and it gave the whole team a lot of pleasure to see Desert Sting get his head back in front. We will now aim him at the intermediate at the next Bangor in 3 weeks time.

We then moved on to Threapwood who made his seasonal reappearance in the Mixed Open, he had a troubled season last year and we were hoping for a improved display. He travelled well before getting outpaced and hopefully he will come on for the run and start to show the form which has seen him win a total of 9 races.

1-1-3

Mister Splodge was the yards third runner of the day and put up a big performance to provide Harry Myddleton with a winner on his first ride with a very impressive display by both horse and jockey. Mister Splodge is a big chasing type who gallops and jumps for fun , Harry let him stride on after two fences and the pair didn't look back and made most of the running to run out a emphatic winner. He looks the perfect type to provide Harry with plenty of fun and experience for the season ahead, we will look to run him back at Bangor in 3 weeks time.

Spoilt Sam ran in the maiden and slightly disappointed us after pleasing us with his work at home, he is a big backward type but it is time for him to start showing some form and he will be aided by a pair of blinkers next time he is seen on the track. The Ibbster was the 5th and final runner of the day and put up a fair performance to be finish 5th in a very competitive restricted on a track and ground which would of been sharp enough for him and we expect him to go very close next time.
