Zalvados heads for the Betfair hurdle!

Zalvados heads for the Betfair hurdle!

Its a big day for us on Saturday when we will be represented in the richest handicap hurdle of the year when Zalvados heads to post in the Betfair hurdle at Newbury. He has been a model of consistency ever since we purchased him from France last Autumn having been placed at both Aintree and Cheltenham before finally getting his head infront last time at Ludlow. We hope that did his confidence the world of good and are looking forward to seeing him with blinkers on having felt he can hold something back in the finish. Ross Turner 7lb will hopefully put him in with a solid place chance atleast.

We also have 4 runners at Uttoxeter on Saturday.

We start the day off when double represented in the 1:55 a maiden hurdle where Fort Jefferson and Alderson are set to take on a competitive field. Fort Jefferson made a pleasing start to his hurdling career when finish 2nd at this track 2 weeks ago and will again enjoy the ground. Dave England rides. Alderson will be making his hurdling debut after finishing 3rd in a Bangor bumper, he is a lovely big sort who will improve for time but we are looking forward to seeing how he gets on. Liam Heard rides.

We then move on to the ultra consistent Quids In who will be looking to put in another solid effort on ground he goes on. Rob Hawker 7lb claim should bring him right in to the reckoning.

Our final runner of the day comes in the final race on the card at Uttoxeter where Jaunty Thor will be looking to go one better than on his reappearance at Newcastle. This represents a slightly higher grade but at least he doesn't have much weight and should put in another good effort. Dave England rides.
